American Heartland Magazine
This quarterly digital magazine covers all things American Heartland. The states that comprise this portion of the nation, so often dubbed flyover country, are all too frequently overlooked and under-appreciated. We hope to remedy this by highlighting the people, places, history, and culture of our beloved Midwest. Inside the pages you will find carefully curated stories, vibrant images and pictorials, and insightful articles. Join us as we explore the beating heart of the USA.
Editor-in-Chief
Holly Miletich
Holly is a lifelong resident of the American Heartland who is based in northeastern Missouri. She has lived and worked in several Heartland states and has traveled extensively throughout the region. Holly has a passion for sharing the beauty and culture of this unique part of America. Retired from a two-decade career as a professional speechwriter, Holly dreamed of sharing her writing in a different format that would also allow her to share her love of the Midwest. Thus, American Heartland Magazine was born.
Editor-at-Large
Pierce Miletich
Pierce has been traveling the world, and the US, since he was a toddler. Yet, every time he comes back home to the Heartland his love for the region is only intensified. He publishes stories on his blog as a freelance writer, combining his two great loves—story telling, and traveling. Working as the magazine’s Editor-at-Large allows Pierce to share stories about, and spread appreciation for the place he calls home. When he isn’t writing or traveling you will find him engaging in his favorite outdoor activities and hobbies.
American Heartland Magazine Motto
